Behind the work

The Wall Remembers

We have been taught to see walls as limits: cold surfaces, closures, things that separate and prevent. But no wall is truly empty. It holds everything people believed they had left behind: crossings, partings, fears, loves, wounds and beginnings.

Time does not always destroy. Sometimes it only loosens what had become too rigid to live. It removes old layers, cracks appearances and reveals a truer form of things. What we call decay may be a transformation we have not yet learned to see.

For this reason, the wall is not only an obstacle. It can become witness, shelter and memory. It reminds us that nothing that shaped us disappears entirely, and that the traces of the past do not always have to be erased for life to continue.

The Wall Remembers is a story about changing the way we look. About the moment when we stop seeing only the crack and begin to see the light passing through it. Sometimes this change makes sorrow easier—not because the walls disappear, but because we learn to understand that they were also trying to protect us.
